ALERT'S BIO:
Birthed from an ideal of passions past, Boogalu & moral one left behind the industry hype, label deals and blog buzz for a different approach to hip hop music: Kingdom minded success. The past 8 years have had the pair in various groups and crews; playing everything from youth groups and parking lots to sold out clubs and European festivals. But things are different now. Focuses have changed. Priorities are clearer.
Their musical roots cross all genres, from Ruben Blades to The Roots; Rich Mullins to Madlib. As a result Boogalu and Moral One cut and paste their influences to create music that can’t be labeled. Their musical roots cross all genres, from Ruben Blades to The Roots; Rich Mullins to Madlib. As a result Boogalu and moral one cut and paste their influences to create music that can’t be labeled. Their first endeavor as ALERT is the labor of love solo LP from Boogalu [also] titled ALERT. The bold and musically diverse hip hop album is 14 tracks of declaration and celebration of God’s redemptive salvation. Blending live instrumentation, classic drum breaks and new school synths, ALERT promises to be a record like you’ve never heard before. And this is just the tip of the iceberg for the two. Now building a close-knit band of brothers, producers, artists, actors, and film visionaries, ALERT’s vision runs deep for how they want the arts to penetrate the city [worldwide] for the Gospel; whether it’s through live shows and tours or life on life mentoring.
Keep an ear to the ground for Streetlights: ALERT’s urban soundtrack to the Bible. |
